District to Hold Informational Meeting to Describe an Ongoing District Project Investigating the Potential for an Annually Reconciled Multi-Year Permit

The Harris-Galveston Subsidence District will be holding an informational meeting on December 12th, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the District Office at 1660 West Bay Area Blvd., Friendswood, TX, for interested parties regarding an on-going science and research project to investigate the potential for an annually reconciled multi-year permitting concept. The purpose of this meeting is to inform interested parties and to receive feedback and information on the utility of this potential administrative tool and any potential concerns.

The purpose of this project is to determine if any administrative remedy exists to account for short-term interruptions of alternative water-supply while maintaining subsidence neutrality and compliance with the expectations of the District Regulatory Plan.

At the meeting, District staff will explain the scope of the project, timeline, and expected deliverables. The annually reconciled multi-year permitting concept will be described. Following the overview and introduction, interested parties will be allowed time to provide feedback to staff on the utility of such an administrative tool and any potential concerns regarding the general concept.
