The Groundwater Management Area (GMA) 14 Regional Planning Group will meet on Tuesday, October 5 at 9:30 a.m. to discuss adopting the proposed desired future conditions (DFCs) for the upper Gulf Coast Aquifer.

The Groundwater Management Areas, overseen by the Texas Water Development Board, provide for the conservation, preservation, protection, recharging, and prevention of waste of the groundwater, and to control subsidence caused by the withdrawal of water from those groundwater reservoirs.

The District participates as an interlocal participant in the GMA 14 planning process. To learn more about the District’s role in regional planning, click here.
