Board of Directors

The Board was created to set policy and regulate groundwater withdrawals within the District to end subsidence, and to exercise its rights, powers, and duties in a manner that effectively and expeditiously accomplishes the purposes of Chapter 8801. The Board’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, adopting and enforcing reasonable rules, regulations, and other orders.

HGSD Board Composition – The Board consists of the 19 members appointed and qualified as required by Chapter 8801.  Members and officers shall serve until their successors are appointed and sworn in accordance with Chapter 8801 and District Rules. The Board shall hold a regular meeting on the second Wednesday of each month or as the Board may establish from time to time by resolution.  Regular, Special and Emergency Board Meetings are open to the public; however, Executive Sessions are not open to the public.
