The Texas legislature commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District adopting a bipartisan bill, HCR128. Thank you to Representative Dennis Paul and Senator Carol Alvarado for this honor and recognition. It is through the support of our Texas Legislators that we are able to protect our groundwater resources with reasonable and effective groundwater regulations backed by the best available science to ensure a sustainable water future that is free from the impacts of subsidence.
On April 17, 2025, the Texas House of Representatives adopted this resolution, and on May 6, 2025, it was adopted by the Texas Senate, where our Board of Directors and staff were recognized by Senator Alvarado.
