Water Conservation Grant Project – City of Friendswood

In 2022, the City of Friendswood received $49,415 from the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District’s Water Conservation Grant Program to fund the installation of 33 advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) meters which transfer data to a WaterSmart interface that is accessible to customers via a customer portal.

With the implementation of AMI, the city and customers can view water usage in real-time and allow residents options to establish notifications for water consumption and leak detection as well as promote water conservation through our water conservation tools and resources website, SmarterAboutWater.org.
